Hello! I’m Danielle.
I’m a freelance travel journalist and content writer based in Southern California. My specialties include food, wine, and wellness topics. A curious and observant person by nature, I thrive on research and luxuriate in the nuances of language. I’m a graduate of UCLA, with a Bachelor’s degree in German and working knowledge of Spanish and French.
My essays, interviews, reviews, and reported pieces have been published in a variety of both print and online publications, including Condé Nast Traveler, Lonely Planet, Fodor’s Travel, Wine Enthusiast, SAVEUR and Thrillist. I am the former books columnist for the now-shuttered COAST Magazine, and I have contributed to the Southern California News Group family of publications, including the Orange County Register.
For over a decade I held a position that I treasured, as the marketing and events coordinator at an independent bookstore. This was a wonderful opportunity to hone my writing skills and meet many of my literary idols. During my time there I had the pleasure of working with several authors to assist them with the marketing and promotion of their books. I created newsletters, press releases, media kits, website copy, and in many cases tapped into my WordPress skills to create their websites. I also work with businesses to bolster their marketing techniques.
My insatiable wanderlust began as a child, and my travels to more than 30 countries have fueled my imagination. I love exploring the world and learning about new cultures. I also enjoy meeting new people and listening to their stories, using smiles and gestures when words fail. Some of my most memorable moments on the road are filled with synchronicity, which in turn inspires my writing.
Whether you are an editor seeking a skilled journalist, an author who needs help with crafting a marketing plan for their new book, or a business looking for someone gifted with content writing, I’d love to help. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions and we can discuss your needs.
